WHICH SERVICE DO YOU NEED?
Our mechanics are the best in the business. We provide high quality repairs wherever you are, exactly when you need it - plain & simple.
Your car’s water pump is the heart of your car’s cooling system. It needs to continuously circulate engine coolant from the radiator to the engine and then back again. If your car’s water pump fails your car will run hot, overheat and cease to function. The water pump is operated by your car’s engine. Using either a belt and pulley or a gear or chain the power is transferred to a shaft on which there is an impeller (or small propeller). The impeller circulates coolant while spinning on a bearing. The bearing is the part of the water pump that typically fails first.
Fortunately a water pump that needs repair, replacement or needs to be rebuilt will offer a few warning signs. Initially your water pump may leak coolant. It might also make a noise as the bearing wears down. So keep a look out for coolant leaks from the water pump itself or the surrounding engine area, and listen for any unusual sounds coming from your engine. These signs could indicate a problem.

Alternators and Starters
What generates most of the electricity in your vehicle is not the battery, but the alternator.
The alternator transforms mechanical energy into electrical energy. It sends power to essential parts of your vehicle like the headlights, the engine fan, ignition coils and various parts of the fuel injection system. It powers non-essential, but still very important parts like the radio and air conditioning system.
It’s important to have your alternator checked regularly because it’s not always readily apparent when it fails. It can fail in stages and even when it goes completely, your battery will take over for a short period of time.
That’s why it’s important to get an inspection of your electrical system. We are electrical systems experts. We will check your alternator, battery, ignition and starter.
The starter does the opposite of the alternator. It changes electrical energy into mechanical energy. The starter uses the electricity from the battery to start the crankshaft turn, and that gets your car going.
The electrical systems of today’s cars are complex. Your alternator, starter, ignition and battery are all crucial to your cars performance and, more importantly, its safety. More and more of today’s vehicles are being controlled by onboard computers. The electrical system is more important than ever. Call Mobile Auto Repair San Diego!
Today, most cars are controlled by computers. The fuel injectors, the spark plugs, the steering system and more are all told when to fire and when to move by an onboard computer system.
If something’s going wrong with your car or engine, your onboard computer can tell you about it. If the computer senses something is wrong with one of your car’s systems, it will turn on a dashboard light, like “ABS Brakes” or something less specific, like “Check Engine.”
Some people try to disregard their Check Engine light. And some have even gone as far as disabling it and that could be a costly move.
The best thing to do when your check engine light appears is to call Mobile Auto Repair San Diego at 1-619-567-5164.
